So if my Grandpa has the same glasses is he really a hipster? That’s how the idea came to my mind.

So, I thought this was a clever poster and went to follow the designer who submitted it. Except the moment I started going through her posts, I found something disheartening. She had a business card design with the description “Just a quick new idea for one of the contests on 99designs.”
Hm. Well that sucks. Unfollow.
It seems stupid, and I mean to each their own, but 99designs is straight up spec work. I’ve already posted an article by the RGD that dealt with 99designs specifically, and nothing irks me more than seeing designers (and talented ones at that!) waste away doing meaningless shit. It takes money out of my pocket when people do things for cheap/free and makes our profession a whole lot less professional.

I love these designs, very playful and imaginative. The variety of styles are named after fictional characters also inspired by the 50’s lucha style; Black King (Imperial Stout), Blond Gomez (Lager) and The Vampire’s Son (Red Ale).
